Frequently Asked Questions

Which kind of wax do you use?

We offer both mineral wax and our own secret blend of natural wax. For the most incredible experience, our formulation ensures a clean burn with an excellent scent throw.

Do your wicks have lead in them?

No. All of our wicks are made of cotton and are lead free.

Are your fragrances 100% safe?

Our fragrances are continuously being reinvented as our mission is to make our products with the safest, most beneficial, and highest quality ingredients, all produced and developed here in the UK. Our candles are 100% safe and have beautiful hot and cold throws.

Why does my candle have wet spots on it?

Wet spots are caused by wax shrinkage. Naturally, wax shrinks when it is cool and expand when it is warm, so what appears as a “wet spot”, is what happens when the wax pulls away. This has no effect on the candle burn time and its ability to fragrance well.

How can I get my candle to burn down evenly?

You can eliminate uneven burning and tunneling by cutting your wick to at least 1 cm on your candles' first burn. Upon its first burn, make sure that the wax melts all the way to the edge. Wax has a ‘memory’ and if you only allow a small pool of wax to melt, it will only burn to that diameter in the future. Take some time out to enjoy your candle on its first burn and it will continue to burn evenly afterwards.

Will my products come with CLP labels?

ALARAN candles are fully CLP Regulation (for “Classification of
Labelling and Packaging”) compliant. CLP Is a European Union Regulation from 2008 which aligns the European Union system of classification, labelling and packaging of chemical substances and mixtures to the Globally Harmonised System (GHS). CLP fully came into force on Monday 1st June 2015.

This regulation is commonly referred to as CLP Regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging), which are the labels that you will find on all of our Home Fragrance products. These labels carry the necessary pictograms and relevant hazard information relevant to that product, along with the full contact details of the manufacturer.  This Legislation is there to protect the customer and we fully support it.
